2016 has come to an end, and with it, a new year and (hopefully) new opportunities for Lilacs&Lace. Some things that I know looking back on 2016 are that I have an even bigger vision for the blog this year, and that I have an even bigger appreciation of thrift stores. Why? Because I find dresses like the one featured in this post today! This dress was found in one of my many g0-to thrift stores, which I will be linking in the “Shop My Favorites” page! It is so comfy, with the silk slip below and the long sleeves. It’s nice and flowy too, so it is perfect as a casual dress, or one for an old-fashioned disco (because let’s be honest, that’s exactly what I thought of when seeing it!). Continue reading
In case you haven’t notice, I love anything and everything involving royalty. Ever since I was young, I dreamed I was a princess. Even nowadays, I am obsessed with queens, particularly the history of monarchies. When given the opportunity to learn about them, I get all giddy, and maybe that’s just the history nerd in me, but I love it! With that in consideration, what is a better way to feel like a queen than wearing a beautiful high-collar shirt, with a ballroom-length skirt?!
As summer finally seems to be transitioning to fall (though the weather doesn’t always follow that rule), I try to share the last pops of color as a goodbye to summer. For today’s post, I think this shirt really embodies my goal of that.
What is a better way than to have, well, a kaleidoscope of color in one shirt?!
Well, now that it is officially fall here, I find myself holding onto the idea of summer. One way I know how to do that is with my wardrobe, especially when it comes to the blog. I like to get all the outfits in, before it grows too cold and snowy (as usual, I will be taking a small hiatus from the blog, but will be posting outfits less frequently). So, this outfit is the perfect representation of the spring and summer seasons, and serves as a good start to my goodbye to summer.
Hello, readers! For today, I have a very special post for you all. For me, and I’m sure for other bloggers, I love to have guests on my blog. It’s not only fun for me, but it gives you all a chance to meet people who are special to me and adds variety to my posts (after all, I don’t mind sharing the spotlight once in a while ;)). So, without further adieu…
Hello readers! I’m back for another post! Before you all get into it, I know, radio silence sucks. I want to apologize, as I’ve been busy with work, school, sorority, and many personal issues that have pulled my attention away from the blog. But, not to fear! Mackenzie and I have continued on and have shot even more outfits, which we cannot wait to share with you!
I don’t know if you’ve noticed this, but I’m a huge fan of skirts, particularly skater skirts that have a lot of color. I noticed that, while it’s not officially fall yet, our summertime is almost over, which also means that my time to wear my summer wardrobe is also running out. With that in mind, I decided to introduce you all to this lovely skirt that has graced my wardrobe.
What’s your favorite clothing item? A pair of distressed jeans, a comfy sweater, or maybe even a cute little crop top? Everyone has their favorite clothes, clothes that they can’t get enough of. For me, that would be dresses and skirts.
It’s no lie that I love to frolic around in skirts and dresses, which is why today’s post should be no surprise. Continue reading
Saturday, July 16th was the third and final day of Rock Fest 2016, but I must say, it was a day full of memories.
Waking up on Saturday, myself and my group that I went with couldn’t wait to hit the road, but, we (my parents and I) had a special occasion to attend first: a wedding of a family friend!
One of my favorite parts of Rock Fest is the weather, and despite the dreary, rainy weather that welcomed us to Rock Fest day 1, day 2 was way better! The sun was shining, and it was a toasty day that matched the set list for that day.
